Today we are going to be looking at the top 5 water parks in the world!

Water parks are awesome they are just amusement parks with water that feature play area pools, slides, splash pads, playgrounds, wave pools, artificial surfing and much more.

Like I said… they are awesome!

Water parks were first introduced in the early 1950s and since then they have only grown in popularity.

The first indoor water park was first introduced in the mid-1980s at the now named Tropical Island resort in Germany, with an area spanning more than 700,000 sq ft!

This makes the Tropical Island hotel the largest indoor water park in the world.

The indoor water park idea has proven very helpful in attracting tourists and visitors thus the presence of them in many hotels, restaurants, and resorts around the world introducing indoor pools in order to increase their popularity and attraction.

Not only swimming pools but also many of the resorts and hotels actually introduced water slides and splash pads.

The United States has the most concentrated and the largest water parks market in the world with more than 1 thousand water parks.

But do any of them make the list?

5. Eco Parque Arrayal d’Ajuda, Brazil

This water park ranked 7th out of 18 in things to do in Arraial d’Ajuda, Brazil.

It is not the biggest water park but there’s so much fun packed into such a small area.

This water park is not only known for its awesome swimming pools and water slides but it is also very popular because of the delicious food it serves as well.

Approximately 60% of people rate this water park as an excellent place to visit and more than 30% of people rate this water park a good place to visit.

Only 2 percent of people rate this water park a poor place to visit.

This water park was the Travelers’ choice 2019 winner and awarded by a certificate of excellence by TripAdvisor.

This water park is popular for its cleanliness and polite staff and it is said to be “the best place to visit with the family” by visitors to the water park.

Not the most accessible but deserves its place on the list.

4. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Orlando, Florida

Here is Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon popping up in a cool 4th place.

This water park is ranked 36th out of 423 in things to do in Orlando.

The Typhoon Lagoon water park was awarded TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Certificate and also the Certificate of Excellence in 2019.

Disney do not mess around.

About 65% of people rate this water park as an excellent place to visit and approximately 30% of people rate this water park a good place to visit.

Only 1% of people rate this water park as a poor place to visit.

This water park is one of the 2 water parks at the Disney World resorts.

Typhoon Lagoon is attracting travelers from all over the world with many awesome rides and features such as its 6 ft waves in the surf pool, swimming with real sharks in a shark reef and the speedy water slides which send the riders down 5 stories reaching speeds of approximately 40 mph!

This water park is one of the oldest water parks as it is opened in the late 1990s.

Typhoon Lagoon was ranked as having the largest outdoor wave pool back in the late 90s.

In 2016 this water park was the 2nd most-visited water park in the world.

3. Wetside Water Park, Harvey Bay, Australia

The Wetside water park in Australia ranked 2nd out of 26 in things to do in Harvey Bay.

An amazing thing about this water park is that it is FREE entry for all visitors which I am sure is very appreciated and keeps the park very busy.

More than 70% of people rate this water park as an excellent place to visit and more than 20% of people rate this water park as a good place to visit.

Only 1% of people rate this water park a poor place to visit.

This water park is a travelers’ choice 2019 award winner and also received the certificate of excellence by TripAdvisor in maintaining its excellence and consistency in earning great reviews from visitors.

2. Atlantis Aquaventure Water Park, Dubai, UAE

The Atlantis Aquaventure water park in Dubai is ranked 5th out of 416 things to do in Dubai.

That is pretty impressive.

Atlantis Aquaventure water park is actually ranked number 1 in UAE and number 2 around the world for having the world’s largest water slide.

It is located in the prime location of Dubai and yes we are talking about The Palm which itself is one of the greatest architectural structures in the whole world.

More than 60% of people rate this water park as excellent and 25% of people rate this water park as a good place to visit.

Only 2% of people rate this water park as a poor place to visit.

This water park has a ridiculous 27-meter near-vertical drop water slide which is like a rare gem for thrill-seekers and avoided for the rest of us.

This park allows its visitors to enjoy Aquaconda which is the world’s largest water tunnel slide.

Aquaventure also has a shark safari which allows the swimmers to swim with real sharks and stingrays which is definitely a very unique idea.

It sounds like a must-visit if you are ever in Dubai.

1. Siam Park, Adeje, Spain

The Siam Park water park in Spain is ranked 1st out of 36 in things to do in Adeje.

Siam Park was opened in 2008 and many claim it is the best water park in the world.

It won the travelers’ choice award in 2015, 2017 and 2019 and is also the holder of the certificate of excellence by Tripadvisor.

More than 70% of people rate this park as an excellent place to visit and approximately 20% of people rate this park as a good place to visit.

Only 2% of people rate this water park as a poor place to visit.

This park is also known as the first air-conditioned outdoor water park in the world and the water of the park is heated to 25 degrees Celsius.

Siam Park has its own desalination plant which removes minerals and salts from 700 cubic meters of sea water per day and after the water is used on the rides and slides the park recycles the water by using it to water plants planted in the water park.

Sounds amazing!!
